I work in insurance (though not in health insurance) and was visiting a factory here a few months back. I was informed on my visit that a very small portion of the employees there bought the health coverage, even though the employer paid 80%.

So, this gets me thinking. Of the reported 47m who have no coverage, does this figure include people who have electively refused such coverage?

I am employed, however i am paying my own personal health insurance instead of opting for the group insurance which my employer has since it worked out to be cheaper than group insurance. Now when i am filing my taxes can i claim medical insurance premium as tax deductible.

I know a senior citizen who is separated from his younger wife and just realized that she stands to gain megabucks from his death (he is gravely ill) because he is still covered under Walmart’s Kaiser healthplan. I believe Walmart offers a plan that offers both health and life insurance together. Is this true, and can this man stop this atrocity?
